stuart-goalWhitstable Town 2 Walton & Hesham 1: Whatever manager Mark Munday said in-between half time cups of tea worked a treat after a lack-lustre forty-five minutes.

In the first half Town were indebted to keeper Kevin Fewell for two excellent saves and a goal-line clearance from Gary Sayer to keep the score at the break to just a goal down, as the visitors were quickest to adapt to the wet conditions.

The second half was a much better performance from the men in red.  They totally dominated the next forty-five minutes, with the exception of a late rally from the visitors after they went two-one down and went three up front. Whitstable stayed firm and ran out worthy winners.

Picture Stuart Vahid (on target again)

Stuart Vahid scored both Whitstable goals; his first a penalty after good work by the tireless David Corey, his second a great header from Dan Dolton's cross, Vahid's header flashed into the goal at the Dyke End.

clint-goodingClint Gooding along with captain Sam Denley in midfield both had great second half’s; at the back Stephen Lloyd and Gary Sayer were excellent, Fewell as usual was commanding between the sticks. All in all a good team performance and one that manager Mark Munday will surely use as a benchmark for the rest of the season. WTFC ©
