Stuart Vahid’s twentieth minute goal was the difference between the two sides, but the ‘Oystermen’s’ defence ensured they left Sussex with all three points. Whitstable’s manager Mark Munday in his first Ryman League game in charge winning his first match of the 2009/10 season, building on the previous seasons when Town started with a loss, then a draw last term.
“Delighted with the whole teams performance: Munday told WTFC website: “It was important that we started well as we have some tough games coming up and the last thing we wanted to do was to be playing catch-up so early in the season, Stuart scored the goal that won us the game but we were strong all over the pitch.”
